Getting started

API keys

Create, store, rotate and revoke your isCredible API key.

Every request to the Verify API is authenticated with your API key in the x-api-key header.

curl https://api.iscredible.com/v1/credibility/verify -H "x-api-key: $ISCREDIBLE_API_KEY" ...

Create a key#

  1. Sign in to the dashboard and confirm your email address if you haven't yet.
  2. Open API key and choose Create API key.
  3. Copy the key and store it in your server's secret store or environment variables.

Each account has one active key at a time. Your daily volume follows your plan (see Errors and limits).

Rotate or revoke a key#

Revoke the key in the dashboard and create a new one. A revoked key stops working immediately, so deploy the new key first if you need zero downtime.

One account per product#

If you run several products, create a separate isCredible account for each. History is kept per account, so a person who legitimately uses two of your products is not treated as a second account in either of them. It also keeps each product's quota and dashboard separate.

Never expose your key

Do not put the key in frontend code, mobile apps or public repositories. If a key leaks, revoke it straight away.
